The Greener Blue did a feature about my art. I talk a bit about how I use recycled and reclaimed materials as the base of my paintings. You can read the article here.

Sacred Craft Art Grotto-Santa Cruz

March 14, 2011

I’ll be traveling down the coast to Santa Cruz with my friend Matt Beard for an art event at Sacred Craft this weekend. I’ve dubbed our travels “the bearded and balding surf and art tour”. Can it be called a tour when there’s only one stop? Unfortunately, we have to leave our families behind for this one.

There will be many talented artists, photographers, and surfboard shapers at this event. If your in the area it’s definitely worth coming out for. I’ll have some new works of art on display, framed by my friend Joe Curren. Joe is not only a great surfer and photographer, he’s also very skilled in the wood-shop. His frames are all hand-made by him from start to finish. If your interested in having him frame your art, you can follow the link through this post to contact him. He’ll also have photography on display at this event.

Tsunami

March 12, 2011

What a crazy day I had. I watched the Tsunami hit our shores. I’ll be posting my pictures and video later, but for right now here are some videos of what happened at my hometown port and just down the way in Crescent City. I respect the power of the ocean deeply and today was a reminder why.

This last one is of the harbor entrance in Crescent City. It’s sped up and I suggest turning down your volume because the sound is sped up as well

Thelonious

March 9, 2011

I love listening to Thelonious Monk. It’s great music to have playing at any and every occasion. Last night I was curious about seeing footage of him playing, so I went to YouTube, and of course there is a lot. I’ll be heading back there frequently to watch as much of it as I can.

Plate Tectonics

March 4, 2011

My wife and I went beach-combing last saturday. I found a cool piece of wood, but the highlight was admiring this rock formation.
