Board Art Benefit Viewing Event and a Personal Update

January 12, 2012

If you find yourself in Southern California on the 21st, then find yourself at this event. Fifteen very talented artists (and myself) were asked to paint a surfboards to raise money for SurfAid International. The finished boards look amazing! I highly recommend seeing them in person, and buying one while your at it.

If you follow my blog, you may realize that I haven’t been posting much art as of late. The reason is that I’m working on a new body of work, and I don’t want to unveil them one piece at a time. The art will be a bit of a different direction than my normal routine of painting waves. I’m excited about working on art with a slightly new direction. If you love my waves, I’ll still be painting them regularly. I also think you’ll like this new direction as well. Thanks for taking interest in my artwork and reading my ramblings.

SoCal Art Events

October 4, 2011
The return of fall is upon us in the Pacific Northwest, the rain is drumming on my roof and I have a insatiable desire for warm drinks. But the best part is the return of decent swell!I’m welcoming the season by heading south, makes sense right? Well actually no, but I have two very good reason to be heading south. The first is Sacred Craft Consumer Surfboard Expo. I’ll be there in “The Art Grotto” with several other amazing artists like Phil Roberts, Rick Rietveld, Damian Fulton, Wade Koniakowsky, Erik Abel, Matt Beard and Ron Croci to name a few.

During the event all the artist’s will be participating in a Board Art Benefit by creating live art on surfboards for the purpose of raising support for SurfAid International.

All this action is happening October 8th and 9th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, in Del Mar California.

The second reason I’m heading south is for a show at Bliss 101. On Friday, October 7th starting at 6 pm myself and photographers Deb & Jordan Hetrick will be featuring our work at Bliss 101.

I’ve been partnering with Bliss for several months to bring my work to the Encinitas community. I have to say they do an excellent job and I’m excited to be a part of what they have going on. You can find them at 687 S Coast Hwy. 101, Suite 151, Encinitas, CA next to Whole Foods.

My New Studio

April 21, 2011

After about a year and a half of working on it in my spare-time (and with the help of others), I’ve finished my studio! I quickly took pictures of it, because I know it will never look this pristine again. I’m excited for all the new creative experiences that will happen in this space. It was important to me to give it a good feel, since I’ll be spending a lot of time here.
